The 'platform approach' describes the framework for a structured weight loss diet. The eating approach is concept based and can be tailored to individual client's needs. This approach has been nicknamed 'platform' as it helps to provide the body with a foundation, or platform, on which weight loss can be established and maintained. This foundation allows for, and encourages, increased physical activity through stimulating energy levels and metabolism. Through an understanding of the basic concepts of the 'platform' approach we encourage clients to make appropriate and informed meal selections. We do not encourage an obsessive counting of points or calories, rather an understanding of what foods are needed at different times and why. The Platform approach has already helped a large number of people to lose significant amounts of weight. It is suitable, and quite beneficial, for clients with diabetes or sugar imbalance. |
