I had tried everything, Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Shakes. The weight dropped very quickly, but came back just as quick and usually more.
I had dropped 20kg in 3 months when I went through post natal depression, but when it came back, I weighed the same amount as I did when I was nine months pregnant and just about to deliver.
I was concerned about the outlay at first but after looking into it, realised that this was my last hope, and there was no way that I was going to outlay the expense and not make it work for me. It was also a motivation factor. I was very lucky as my very supportive husband said "if this is going to make you happy, I don't care how much it costs". Support is extremely important whether it be from family, or from someone who has gone through the experience.
I gave myself a great 40th birthday present and I have had my lapband since 2004 and have kept the weight off for over 2 1/2 years. Started around size 18 and was pushing that, I now wear a size 12.
